EU will run out of money & need HUGE programme of cuts without UK cash – Euro Commissioner

BRUSSELS bureaucrats will be forced to make massive cuts to the European Union (EU) budget to fill the gap left by Britain’s departure, a senior Irish eurocrat has warned.

The warning came as influential commissioner Phil Hogan also attacked Britain for its “lack of coordination”, saying its approach to Brexit negotiations “beggars belief”.The Kilkenny born eurocrat said unless European Union members were willing to fill the gap left in the budget after Brexit, programmes including the bloc’s biggest item of spending, agriculture, would have to be slashed. He said EU member states could be forced to increase their contributions from one per cent to 1.1 per cent of Gross National Income.

Mr Hogan also launched a scathing attack on Theresa May’s exit team saying Britain still seemed to be “coming to terms” with its role in talks. The agriculture commissioner said he was “very disappointed” with the pace and content of negotiations, which took place in Brussels earlier this month. He told Ireland’s RTE Radio One: “It seems that the United Kingdom still have to come to terms with their negotiating mandate and this is happening at a time when the clock is ticking.”

“It does beggar belief to see the type of inconsistency and lack of coordination that we see at the moment from the UK side.”Mr Hogan said there was “a bit more than a year” for the Brussels club and UK to reach a settlement Britain is due to leave at the end of March 2019.

Phil Hogan GETTY            Hogan has been an outspoken EU campaigner

The top Brussels official has been an outspoken pro-EU campaigner since Britain voted to unshackle itself from the bloc in June last year.He recently said leaving the customs union would be “economic suicide” and Mrs May must opt for a soft Brexit instead. It comes as European leaders ramp up pressure on Brussels to force through an extortionate Brexit bill on the UK.

Luxembourg’s  prime minister said Britain may have to pay a massive £50billion divorce bill, citing Margaret Thatcher’s famous 1980s battle with the European Union.

The eu runs out of money. And this concerns us how exactly? I hope it does run out of money, because once the subsidies stop they will fall apart like a pack of cards, as nations wont want to pay in loads of money and get nothing back. Then watch the exodus as nations become independent once more. Bring it on.
