Something dark and sinister seems to be taking place in British politics.

In the past we could always count on our politicians living up to the letter and the spirit of democracy. Yet now they seem to have learned well from the unelected, unaccountable EU and so now feel at liberty to dispense with democracy and rule rather than govern. Now they seem to think they are justified to ignore our democratic voice … and they think this will silence us?

We have proven them wrong with the EU referendum. We, the people of Britain, have a voice and regardless of whether or not you voted to leave or to stay in the EU, this voice is sacred. An attack upon one voice, an attack upon one side of the argument, is an attack on all. It is an attack on free speech. It is an attack on democracy. And whether or not you voted to leave or to stay in the EU, an erosion of our democratic rights today will most definitely mean an erosion of your democratic rights tomorrow.

The strength of democracy is that we stand together and we defend one anothers rights to a voice. Do not let that voice be silenced. Do not go quietly into the night, dear friends. Do not support any government that seeks to deny us our voice for that government is an enemy of the people, one section today, another section tomorrow, until none of us have any rights, until none of us have any voice.

The voiceless cannot speak. This means they have no say. Protect democracy while you can. Our UK politicians have learned too well from the EU dictatorship. ALL politicians should be accountable for if they are not then they become dictators. The consequences of this are not wanted by anyone.

Politicians – take note. Media – take note. How often have we championed democracy in the dark places of the world yet now with utter hypocrisy we undermine our own democracy? This is the crucible of modern democracy, spread across the world, the saviour of ordinary people with a voice. Yet now … hypocrisy is the true colour of politicians and their media lapdogs.

Something dark and sinister seems to be taking place in British politics. And no one in the world, from those bastions of freedom, is raising their own voice against it. This indeed is a grave cause for concern

Skulduggery between the politicians themselves is something people expect and would stand by but I would hope that the British electorate will see through any skulduggery with them and show their displeasure rather than stand by or be told to do so.
