Theresa May ‘could trigger Article 50 by APRIL’ as Brexit moves a step closer

THERESA May could ditch the European Union by triggering Article 50 as soon as April, it has been claimed.

GETTY    Officials have claimed Theresa May could trigger Article 50 by April

Officials suggested the Prime Minister is keen to leave Brussels before the French and German elections next year. The first round of the French presidential election will take place next April with Germany set to hold its election in September.

GETTY    May wants to ditch the EU before the French and German elections next year

Neil Wilson, of currency traders ETX Capital, told the Sun: “Invoking Article 50 by April would put pay to speculation that the UK would have several years to prepare to leave the EU.

“The less time the UK has to get things in order, the greater the market fears the fallout.”

It comes as teams from Britain’s finance sectors are expected to present their ideas to Mrs May’s Brexit Cabinet Committee next month.

BBA chief executive Anthony Browne said: “There needs to be a bilateral deal providing as full a two-way market access as possible.“Both sides have an interest in making this work. It is not in the interests of the other EU countries to be cut off from their main financial centre, especially when they are all seeking to boost economic growth.”

GETTY     It comes as Brexit appears to be ‘full steam ahead’

Mr Browne stressed: “The banking sector unequivocally wants to maintain the current level of access to the EU market, to ensure that businesses and customers across Europe can still be served by UK-based banks.”The report of a quick triggering of Article 50 by financial newswire Bloomberg was downplayed by No.10 spokeswoman who said she did not recognise the claim.

But Brexit is the Prime Minister’s “top priority”, according to a Downing Street spokeswoman, as calls grow for Mrs May to trigger Article 50.She said: “It is full steam ahead.

“The Prime Minister has promised to get the job done. Ministers’ diaries are jam-packed with meetings. There is no slowdown or diversion from that. We are ploughing on as quickly as we can and there is no hold-up. Staff are joining every day.”

Indeed Pader, and I have noticed a strange lack of this story on face-book, so I have been commenting on similar threads in an attempt get this story out there and to wake some people up. It has all been a greet big con trick on behalf of the Tories. just one broken promise after another. I suspected this would be the case after the vote, but hoped for once it wouldn’t be and kept my fears to myself, hoping for it to remain positive. Trouble is while people know politician lying is nothing new and that it happens all… Read more »

Well Pader I wrote to May and asked her if this is true, but my expectancy of a reply is zero. If someone reads it, it may give them something to think about, but I doubt they even read their mails. Not much else I could do though really,

Stephen Old Son, of course they already know about this and all of the other controversial facts and have done so for decades. The problem is; that these facts do not suit their narrative. The only possible way for the facts to come out is by embarrassing them into admitting them. That is one of the prime reasons for our campaign of referenda; to bring it into the open but that needs the support of all our readership and their contacts to make it work.

Thanks Pader, that is what I thought. I think they are playing us for suckers myself.

She MUST do it before the 31st of March before the new QMV rules come in the following day; Else, we will have to jump through two more new hoops to get to Brexit. If she does not do it, she will be an even bigger traitor than those that took us into the EU because we now, finally, have a last chance to escape the EU.

Its my understanding that it runs out in April. and we then have to get the agreement of 14 member countries to escape if we leave it that long. Someone please tell me I am wrong as this sounds to me like no we wont get out until the EU Implodes to me
