EU ‘regime’ is DOOMED ‘like the Holy Roman Empire’

THE European Union (EU) will end by 2027 like the Holy Roman empire (HRE) did, argues the Brexit campaigner and author Dr Niall McCrae.

The HRE was a group of Papal territories in Central Europe that developed during the Early Middle Ages and were dissolved in 1806 by Napoleon.Writing in an article for the think tank, the Bruges Group, Dr McCrae said: “Just as the European Union is becoming less united, the HRE was not really holy.”

It comes as the European Commission president, Jean-Claude Juncker, admitted there were now “more cracks” in the EU after Catalonia declared itself independent of Spain last week.

Dr McCrae said that by 2027, there will be “rising tension between nostalgic nationalism and expanding ethnic enclaves”.

Dr Niall McCrae made a comparison between the future of the EU and what happened to the HRE

Boris Johnson

He said: “Among the commoners, rule by Brussels is at best tolerated, at worst despised”.He wrote that in 2027 the chief Brexit negotiation, Michel Barnier, and his fellow commissioners will be behaving like the “enlightened despots” of the European past.

The Brexit campaigner’s article claims that Mr Barnier will be undermined by secessionists, as the bloc becomes increasingly “detached”.

He argues in an article that first appeared in Conservative Women that the HRE “ended as an embarrassment of corrupted ideals and the EU may be going the same way”.

Mr Juncker admitted that the EU is not as united as it was before the Catalan referendum

He said: “For now, the EU seems to have strength and resilience: the combined might of France and Germany, its neoliberal multiculturalism an inspiration to youth.“But 10 years on, and the view from Barnier’s bastion looks less assured”.

Dr McCrae thinks the EU will end slowly.

He said: “The soldiers, experienced only in handing out food tokens to crowds of migrants, are refusing to fight.

History shows that attempts to create a unified body have always failed, said Mr Johnson

“And this is how the most apparently impermeable and permanent regimes end: not with a bang but a whimper”.The European Council has similarities to the Empire’s old Reichstag, where the representatives of the German cities would meet.

In 2013, the New York Times said: “Both the European Union and the empire are characterised by interminable and inconclusive debate.”

Earlier this year, Boris Johnson, the former Mayor of London said that history teaches us that attempts to create a unified body have always been doomed to failure.

He said: “Napoleon, Hitler, various people tried this out, and it ends tragically.“The EU is an attempt to do this by different methods.

“But fundamentally what is lacking is the eternal problem, which is that there is no underlying loyalty to the idea of Europe.

“There is no single authority that anybody respects or understands. That is causing this massive democratic void.”

The crash and burn can’t come soon enough…of course Junker and Tusk say there is full unity, if they admit the house of cards is waiting to fall at the slightest breeze then they will have to face home truths and failure head on.
I’m loving it, can’t wait to see arrogant a***holes get their comeuppance…..KARMA….bring it on!
